               Transmission is a mechanism that transmits of a power developed by the engine to the wheels of that automobile. 

It includes

• Clutch
• The gear box
• Propeller shaft
• Universal joint
• Rear axle

Need of transmission in vehicles

• Provides means of connection and disconnection of engine with rest of power train without shock smoothly.
• Provides a varied leverage between the engine and drive wheels.
• Enable speed reduction between engine and the engine and drive wheels.
